We hope that you and your loved ones are all keeping well in these slowly changing (and hopefully improving) times.
We are so lucky here in The Western Isles, to be surrounded by so many talented artists and artisans. And with such wonderful natural and diverse landscape, flora, and fauna (and weather!) – there is no end of inspiration to draw from.

But when we decided to have our own Postcard printed – we had no hesitation in choosing Joceline Hildrey Illustration for the commission. Joceline was our old ‘studio neighbour’ when we had our first wee studio at Talla na Mara. We have always admired her work and we are delighted with the result!

Our initial proposal was to have these available for sale at Ardhasaig Glass & Arts – but until we can open to the public once more, we decided to include one with a handwritten message in each online order.

Missing Trips to Harris in 2020

So many people have missed out on their trips to Harris this year.  The ferries are still only accommodating essential travel for islanders which is set to continue until the end of June. At present, there is no timescale for when visitors will once more be permitted to travel here.

And so, from this sad situation, another idea was born. For anyone who is missing Harris during the strange and unprecedented times we now find ourselves in – please feel free to contact us (by email or Facebook messenger) with your name and address, and we will send you a postcard from Harris.

Due to financial restraints – we can only send one postcard from Harris a day. But we will continue to send one a day until everyone who asks has received one. This is open to everyone, wherever you may be. All with a personal message that will hopefully keep you up to date with Harris on the day it was written.

And we are also working on making them available to purchase through our website – for those who would like to send them to others.

Our website still only accepts orders for UK delivery currently, but we will happily send internationally. If you email info@thehebrideandesigncompany.com with your order and we will calculate delivery costs for you.
