COVID-19: Adapting to our new regime
Adapting during COVID-19: April is usually the month when Harris starts to awaken from its cosy winter slumbers.
Seasonal businesses start to open, ferries start to fill as the visitors return in numbers, there are more vehicles on the road, and we might find ourselves sharing a beach with other likeminded folk.
But not this April…. Quite the opposite……No visitors, no extra cars, cafes and restaurants are shut as are all non-essential shops. We are only allowed out of our homes once a day for exercise, and the phrase ‘social distancing’ is now understood by all. The world has been rocked by a wee virus called COVID-19. Life is far from what we all knew a few months ago, far too many people have lost loved ones.
Adapting During COVID-19
As we all learn to adapt to a new way of living – some things remain the same. Lambs are frolicking across the island, daffodils are in full bloom, the tide continues to ebb and flow, and life goes on.

Creating New Designs
Doug and I are getting used to our new regime. Although the Gallery is closed to visitors until it is safe to reopen – giving Doug time to create new designs. We are so very grateful to our wonderful customers who have continued to support us through online orders. We very much look forward to the day when you can all visit us in person once more. Our website currently only takes orders for delivery in the UK, but we are happy to post internationally if you email us at info@thehebrideandesigncompany.com
And until that time, we will continue with our weekly giveaway (via our Facebook page) to one person who has been nominated as making a difference to one of you. This may be an essential worker, friend, neighbour – anyone who is helping you through these strange and difficult times. It is just a small way of saying thank you! There are many people who are helping to make these times the best they possibly can be.
Until we next meet – we wish you all the very best wishes.
Thank You All,
Kate & Doug
