October in Harris
Harris constantly changes throughout the year but, for me, October brings the most noticeable changes.
Mornings are darker, and the nights draw in earlier every day. Low morning sun throws wonderful golden shadows on the hills.
Many seasonal businesses are closing or reducing their opening hours, however we will be remaining open throughout the year.
Although we have less visitors to the islands, the stalwart artists and photographers make the most of the spectacular light at this time of year. And those seeking a quieter island keep fingers crossed for clear night skies and the hope of seeing the Northern Lights.
The last few months have been a whirlwind for us and it seems fitting that our hard work on our new premises seems to be coinciding with the changing of the seasons.
Building work on our Barn is complete and Doug is busy with the final finishing touches. Our Glass Studio will be the first area to be complete, followed by the embroidery workshop and retail area. If you are passing, please feel free to pop in and say hello. Even if we are not fully functional, we will be delighted to show you around.
Ardhasaig Glass and Arts will be open throughout the year, with disabled access, restroom facilities and with a small seating area (inside and out) – somewhere to sit and enjoy the view, meet up with friends and have a hot drink.
We very much look forward to welcoming you all in the very near future.
Best Wishes,
Kate and Doug
