Finding Renewed Hope on Scotland’s Stunning Island of Harris
To say it’s been a while since writing would be quite an understatement. I have to admit, it’s been quite a struggle to focus and be motivated since Doug’s Mum died at Christmas. June moved up to live with us when she could no longer manage to live on her own, and spent her last 16 months here.
The whole rhythm of our lives disappeared with her passing – until then, Doug and I hadn’t truly appreciated how much our lives had changed when our home became hers too. It was a privilege that we wouldn’t change for the world.
But, with Spring comes new life and warmer days, and we now feel ready to focus once more on ourselves, our friends and family, and our business. We’re finding new routines and patterns in our lives and are looking forward to seeing more visitors to the island we call home.
Island of Harris Gallery
Whether through art, nature, or shared experiences, we all must find ways to unite and support each other. At our Gallery, we’re committed to fostering a sense of community and connection. We believe that art has the power to bring people together and create a shared experience. In addition to our Gallery, Harris is also home to some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. The island’s rugged coastline, wild mountains, and turquoise waters make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers. Whether you’re a hiker, a photographer, or simply someone who appreciates natural beauty, you’ll find something to love on Harris.
As we move into this new season, we hope you’ll join us in finding new ways to connect and support one another. Whether through art, nature or simply a kind word, we all have the power to make a difference in each other’s lives.
Our Gallery is always open to visitors, and we look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful island. You’ll also have the chance to experience the stunning natural beauty of Harris, from its rugged coastlines to its wild mountains. For those who can’t make it to the island, we will keep you updated through our blog, newsletter, and social media. We love sharing our experiences with you and hope you’ll feel a part of our island community even from afar.
Sending you our very best wishes from Harris,
Kate and Doug
